About Faith In Action North Lakeland
Faith in Action is committed to help older adults in maintaining and improving their quality of life. With the assistance of volunteers, clients can maximize their ability to meet their own needs and to continue to live independently. Services that are available to qualifying seniors include transportation, handyman services, errands, medical equipment closet, and information and referrals.

To be eligible for transportation services, individuals must be enrolled as a client in the program. Clients must be ambulatory independently or with the assistance of a cane or walker. PLEASE NOTE: We are able to provide transportation to individuals in wheelchairs who are not able to transfer to a car independently. Our volunteers are not able to transport wheelchairs in their vehicles.
Committed to helping our customers achieve their dreams

Our Services
Faith In Action North Lakeland is all about helping senior citizens keep their independent lifestyle.
History
Faith in Action of North lakeland mirror other Faith in Action organizations developed by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation throughout the USA. The history/purpose of Faith in Action of North Lakeland, established in September 2003 by Mildred S. McMillion with the help of Polk County Elderly service is to help chronically ill and frail elderly neighbors retain their independence. By forming personal relationships, volunteers will encourage care recipients to maintain or increase meaningful social interactions, by performing chores the care recipients can no longer perform; volunteers will enable care recipients to live safely in their homes, preventing premature institutionalization. In addition Faith in Action is part of an established organization. We visit the home-bound, shut-ins; to see that their needs are met, distributing Boxes of food, clothing, and toiletries. We serve the people of Polk county without regard to religious affiliation, race, color or national origin. We especially take care of people with disabilities. The faith in action model enables us, in partnership, to develop relationships and provide more care to more people in need.
